OUR MISSION

Our programs are based on the values that everyone deserves to be loved, self-directed, treated with dignity and respect, and to be recognized for their inherent value as a unique person. Another guiding value is the right of persons with disabilities to be a part of the community, with the same opportunities, responsibilities, and quality of life as available to all citizens. We utilize a person-centered approach as a provision of our services and our principles mirror the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services & Home and Community Based Services guidelines. Warminster Place is committed to supporting and training by assisting, or total care for adults with developmental disabilities and illnesses to attain individual goals in areas such as:

  • Functioning in the community, integrating into different environments, and adapting optimally to daily living.

  • Learning new skills and adapting functional skills relating to community resources and safety to appropriate environments.

  • Communicating needs, wants, and comprehending verbal commands.

  • Demonstrating appropriate behavior, peer interactions, and social skills in home and community environments.
